چکیده
Abstract Sea cucumber was a marine invertebrate from class Holothuroidea and phylum Echinoderm that possessed various bioactive compounds. This study aimed to estimate the antioxidant properties of sea cucumbers evaluate their ability. Ferric Reducing Antioxidant Power (FRAP) Cupric Capacity (CUPRAC) assay estimated cucumbers, for control, ascorbic acid Trolox were used. The samples dried Holothuria edulis, Pearsonothuria graeffei , Stichopus herrmannii Boalemo, Gorontalo. three had capacities. H. edulis highest value, both in FRAP CUPRAC assay, followed by P. S. herrmanni . values 48.47; 28.32; 11.95 μmol Fe(II), respectively 6.5; 5.9; 1.49 Trolox/g extract. weak extract methods most likely related absence phenolic compounds which usually have OH groups conjugated double bonds. Separation purification crude may improve its properties. Based on this research, it can be concluded capacity using method weak.

Antioxidant activity of extracts of two species of Sea Cucumber Holothuria parva and Holothuria leucospilota from the Persian Gulf, Iran
Marine animals are among the most important sources of natural products with biological activities because of their secondary metabolites. Many compounds were extracted, purified, identified and studied for their antioxidant, cytotoxic, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects from sea cucumber However, very few investigations are available on Persian Gulf sea cucumbers. The antioxidant act...
متن کاملTriterpenoid oligoglycosides from the sea cucumber Stichopus parvimensis.
Two new holostan-type triterpenoid oligoglycosides, named parvimosides A (1) and B (2), were isolated from the warty sea cucumber Stichopus parvimensis (syn. Parastichopus parvimensis). Their structures and total assignments of the proton and carbon signals were established on the basis of spectral evidence, mainly 1H and 13C 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopy including DEPT, COSY, TOCSY, NOESY/ROESY, ...
متن کاملCytoprotective Effects of Lysophospholipids from Sea Cucumber Holothuria atra
Lysophospholipids are important signaling molecules in animals and metazoan cells. They are widely distributed among marine invertebrates, where their physiological roles are unknown. Sea cucumbers produce unique lysophospholipids. In this study, two lysophospholipids were detected in Holothuria atra for the first time, lyso-platelet activating factor and lysophosphatidylcholine, with nuclear m...
متن کاملAntifungal active triterpene glycosides from sea cucumber Holothuria scabra.
To study the new antifungal active triterpene glycosides of sea cucumber Holothuria scabra. Triterpene glycosides from Holothuria scabra were separated and purified by silica gel chromatography, reversed-phase silica gel chromatography and RP-HPLC. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of spectral data and chemical evidence. Three triterpene glycosides were identified as scabraside A (1...
متن کاملBioactive sulfated saponins from sea cucumber Holothuria moebii.
The bioactive ingredients of sea cucumber Holothuria moebii were investigated, and four sulfated saponins (1-4) and one desulfated saponin (3B) with an unusual 3,4-epoxy xylose were obtained from this study. Compound 2 is a new triterpenoid saponin and 3B is a new artificial compound. On the basis of the extensive NMR and HRESIMS data, their structures were assigned as 3-O-[β-D-quinovopyranosyl...
